Jay & A was founded by Jay and Alvin, two friends bonded by a shared passion for artistic expression and thoughtful design. What started as a mutual appreciation for art and fashion grew into a belief that clothing should feel natural, considered, and quietly confident. From the beginning, they were drawn to minimal forms—not as an aesthetic trend, but as a way to cut through distraction.

We position Jay & A as a slow, minimal, arts-driven brand. Every design begins with a theme, develops through concept, and takes shape over time. We don’t rush releases or chase moments. We allow ideas to breathe—because quality, both in craft and meaning, can’t be hurried.

Cheryl, our third co-founder, brings an engineering mindset and entrepreneurial discipline that grounds creativity in purpose. Her perspective ensures that every detail—from fabric choice to fit—serves a function, not just a visual. This balance between art and practicality defines how we work.

Lawrence, our graphic designer, shapes the visual language of Jay & A. With a background in graphic design and a focus on visual identity, he translates ideas into clear, restrained graphics that support the brand’s storytelling. His approach favours reduction over decoration—allowing form, space, and structure to carry meaning. Through his work, the themes behind each design are not just told, but quietly seen.
